Even after our physicians prescribe medication, many of us struggle to afford the skyrocketing costs. Drug prices have risen on average more than 160% in recent years—and many have gone up much higher than that.
That includes essential medicines to treat asthma, diabetes, high blood pressure, and even cancer. This is unacceptable.
We at PFAM want to fix this problem. To do so, we need to make sure that our lawmakers and drug companies and insurance companies hear the stories of real people in our communities who are not able to take the medicines they are prescribed.
